An online deposit of 10% of the total cost of your tour is required to hold your reservation. The remaining balance for your tour is due in cash (USD or it’s equivalence in Euros, GBP, or Ethiopian Birr) upon pickup on the start date of your tour.
Discover Omo will cancel tours that are not paid in full upon pickup on the start date of your tour, in which case the deposit of 10% of the total tour price will be forfeited.
Discover Omo reserves the right to correct promotional or pricing errors at any time.
All taxes are included in your quoted price.
If you must cancel your tour, you must do so in writing via email. We will not accept cancellations made by phone. In the event that you cancel, whether before or after the start date of your tour or if you fail to arrive on the start date, unless otherwise agreed to by us in writing, your 10% deposit will be forfeited and no refund will be given.
Discover Omo reserves the right to decline to accept or retain any passenger on any of its tours if, in its sole discretion, it deems retaining such passenger as being detrimental to the tour. In the event any passenger is removed from a tour which is already in progress, or leaves early for any reason, Discover Omo will not issue a partial refund for any unused services due to early departure.
Discover Omo reserves the right to alter, cancel or shorten a tour without notice, at Discover Omo’s sole discretion, as may be deemed necessary or advisable. In such event, your sole remedy shall be a prorated refund for any unused portion of the trip.
We accept payment for the 10% deposit by credit or debit card through our secure online payment system. Be aware that your credit card company or bank may add their own handling fee for processing a payment outside your home country.
If you request to change your arrival or departure city, and Discover Omo approves your request, we reserve the right to increase the price of your tour accordingly, if we deem it will increase our expenses. If you request to extend your tour, and Discover Omo approves your request, we reserve the right to increase the price of your tour accordingly. If you are already on tour and wish to extend it, payment for any extra days will be immediately due in cash at that time.
All traveler requests, including preferred schedule, accommodations, and tribes visited are subject to availability and logistical and security constraints, and are not guaranteed.
We recommend a maximum of 3 people per tour vehicle for your comfort, as we must leave sufficient room for baggage, supplies, the driver/guide, and additional local guide as needed. A 2nd vehicle is mandatory for 5 or more people. A 3rd vehicle is mandatory for 9 or more people.
Standard accommodations are based on single or double-bedded rooms with private bath, and are subject to availability. Multiple rooms, tents or vehicles will result in additional fees.
You must advise Discover Omo in writing via email, at or prior to booking, of any physical, emotional or mental condition which (a) may affect your ability to fully participate in the trip; (b) may require professional attention during the trip; or (c) may require the use of special equipment. If any such condition arises after the tour is booked, you must advise Discover Omo in writing via email, immediately.
Discover Omo reserves the right to decline or cancel your reservation, or to remove you from a tour in progress, if Discover Omo determines your condition would adversely affect the health, safety, or enjoyment of you or of other participants. If Discover Omo removes you from a tour in progress pursuant to this paragraph, you will not be entitled to any refund of your tour payment and Discover Omo shall have no further liability.
Most Discover Omo tours are not wheelchair-accessible, as wheelchair assistance or accessibility in our tour destinations cannot be guaranteed. If you require a wheelchair, you must provide Discover Omo with your requirements in advance and also may need to bring your own small, collapsible wheelchair.
If you are unable to travel without assistance, you must be accompanied by an able companion. If you have a condition which requires special equipment or treatment, you must bring and be responsible for all necessary items related to your condition. Discover Omo cannot accommodate motorized scooters of any kind. Discover Omo cannot accommodate women past their 6th month of pregnancy and cannot accommodate service animals.
If you have a condition as contemplated herein, you travel at your own risk. Discover Omo is not liable for any injuries or damages you may suffer relating to such a condition, including, without limitation, loss of special equipment, lack of assistance with or accommodation of special needs, and unavailability of medical assistance or treatment.
Discover Omo is not responsible for the costs of any medical treatment you may require during the trip. Under no circumstances is Discover Omo responsible for the quality of medical care, or lack thereof, you may receive while on the trip.
Air transportation is not included and is your responsibility. We recommend Ethiopian Airlines.
Guests are urged to travel with only one medium-size suitcase. Luggage and personal effects are at owner’s risk throughout the tour.
Our tours cover many different areas with many different languages. Discover Omo partners with local tribal guides in some locations in lieu of a Discover Omo guide in order to provide more accurate interpretation and a better tour experience.
Cost of obtaining passports, visas, travel insurance, baggage charges, alcoholic drinks, laundry, communication expenses, international airport departure tax, deviations from the tour, gratuities, and payment to individuals in exchange for photos, are not included.
Travel insurance, including medical and evacuation, which also provides protection against lost or damaged luggage, is highly recommended.
Discover Omo may take photographs or film of its tours and tour participants, and participant grants Discover Omo express permission to do so and for Discover Omo to use such for promotional or commercial use, unless agreed to otherwise in writing.
Discover Omo does not own or operate certain entities which provide goods or services for your tour, including, for example, lodging facilities, vehicle rental agencies, restaurants, and local guide associations.
As a result, Discover Omo is not responsible for any negligent or willful act or failure to act of any person or entity it does not own or control, nor for any act or inaction of any other third party not under its control.
Without limitation, Discover Omo is not liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, or incidental damage, injury, death, loss, accident, delay, inconvenience or irregularity of any kind which may be occasioned by reason of any act or omission beyond its control, including, without limitation any willful or negligent act or failure to act or breach of contract or violation of local law or regulation of any third party such as an airline, train, hotel, bus, taxi, van, tour operator or local guide whether or not it uses the Discover Omo name.
Similarly, Discover Omo is not responsible for any loss, injury, death or inconvenience due to delay or changes in schedule, overbooking of accommodation, default of any third party, attacks by animals, sickness, the lack of appropriate medical care, evacuation to same, if necessary, weather, strikes, acts of God or government, acts of terrorism, force majeure, war, quarantine, criminal activity, or any other cause beyond its control.
